Yadira Garcia is a natural-foods community chef and activist, a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute as well as a certified Integrative Health Coach who grew up in the South Bronx and Washington Heights neighborhoods of New York City. She has a gift for making healthy cuisine exciting, and a passion for making it standard and available for everyone. She is now leveraging her education and previous experience as a healthcare professional on her platform as a healthy food blogger under Happy Healthy Latina LLC, Wellness In The Schools Chef teaching children daily seasonal cooking classes and how to grow food in a greenhouse setting, and as a Just Food Community Chef, facilitating workshops to change lives and increase access to real food. Yadira has been invited to speak at top colleges and universities such as New York University, Columbia University and Barnard College. She has collaborated with Bronx Borough President providing the recipes for #not62 campaign for a healthier Bronx, appeared on NY1, Bronxnet, Accesso Total (Telemundo), has been featured on ABCs the Chew, The Dr. Oz Show and has conducted hundreds of community cooking demonstrations to date, most recently Yadira is the host of, Healthy Cocina, an original concept by her, which is a cooking show with culturally relevant recipes inspired by her Latino heritage made healthy, produced by actress Zoe Saldana and can be seen on their YouTube channel, Cinestar Pictures.
