Mireille is a dedicated and passionate health educator/food justice advocate/community chef/hydroponic farmer and motivator with a mission to help individuals recognize their power to create and maintain health and wellness in their lives and communities.
Mireille has been a champion of healthy food and healthy families for over 20 years at the Child Development Support Corporation (CDSC) in Brooklyn. Mireille's approach emphasizes each individual's dignity, and her mission is to provide her community with fresh, healthy choices each week through CDSC's client-choice food pantry. Because of Mireille's leadership, CDSC has been a longtime member of Just Food's Farm-to-Pantry program, distributing vegetables from The Farm at Miller's Crossing. Mireille is also trained as a Just Food Community Chef, and leads cooking demonstrations at pantries all over the city. She also built an indoor hydroponic farm at her own pantry, so that fresh, leafy greens grow year-round for CDSC clients.
