Maggie grew up growing food, loving food, and wanting to share her passion and knowledge with others. Daughter of an organic farmer and founder of The Food Project, in Boston, she has been involved with food her whole life. She has a total of 10 years growing food professionally, at all different scales. She has gone back and forth from rural areas to urban areas and excited to now co-own a farm, Rock Steady Farm & Flowers, just two hours north of NYC where working for both communities is now a reality. The farm is a for profit business with a strong social justice mission selling CSA boxes to 70 low-income families in the area, 75 local members, a large amount of wholesale, hosting local youth for job training and shares land with The Watershed Center, a retreat center for community based justice organizations. Maggie is also a teacher for Farm School NYC's Advanced Crop Production and Irrigation courses as well as works part-time for Community Access’s Food Initiatives in NYC.
