Kolu Zigbi has worked as a Program Director for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems at the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation since 2000. She manages a small national portfolio of grants and provides technical assistance to grassroots organizations working to build food justice (particularly amongst food chain workers), community food security, and food sovereignty. She has designed and directed two innovative multi-funder partnerships to get more funding to grassroots people of color-led organizations building their advocacy capacity. Kolu co-created and serves on the Steering Committee of Committee of Community Food Funders, a project for funders interested in building a more socially just, ecologically healthy and financially sustainable food shed for New York City.
