Jennifer is a young philanthropic leader and Salvadoran-American activist that is passionate about moving resources to grassroots movements for social change. As the program officer for North Star Fund, Jennifer brings her experiences as a grantmaker and a former working-class hero/nonprofit unicorn to any funder table. Jennifer specializes in building equity into grantmaking processes and developing grantmaking strategies that shift the power dynamics of philanthropy. When she’s not organizing to decolonize philanthropy, Jennifer is practicing radical sisterhood as a means of dismantling systems of oppression with Sister Circle Collective – a NYC based grassroots healing community led by and young women of color. Prior to joining North Star Fund, Jennifer spent over a decade on the grantee side advocating for immigrant worker rights and was a 2012 Colin Powell Fellow at the City College of New York and a 2013 Public Policy & International Affairs Fellow at Princeton University.
