D. is a 2014 certificate-program graduate of Farm School NYC, which she states was a life transforming experience that helped her identify her path and callings in life. D. has a strong affinity for sharing knowledge with others, so she has used her farming and carpentry skills as vehicles to talk about larger social and societal issues around race, class, gender and sexuality. D. co-founded Rise & Root Farm in 2014 and then spent the 2015 season apprenticing at the five-acre Sister's Hill Farm, in upstate NY, cultivating her large-scale farming skills and new love for CSA farming. D. is one of the co-owners of Rock Steady Farm & Flowers in Millerton, NY - a worker owned cooperative farm. She is excited to grow on 11 acres of land, growing food for both the Hudson Valley and NYC.
