Fighting Back Along the Food Chain: Food Workers Building Resilient Movements
This workshop will address how food workers are organizing to respond to the current and unprecedented political moment, which has led to increased hate crimes against Muslim street vendors, placed immigrant farmworkers in jeopardy, and led to the nomination of a fast food mogul to protect and enforce the rights of restaurant workers. Workers along the food chain are not sitting silent, but are actively organizing to create sanctuary spaces and advance their agendas at this critical moment. Organizers and food workers themselves will discuss their efforts, and how others can get involved!
